What are some of the key characteristics shared between team members that make the credentialing team successful?
Our credentialing team lives by our core values every day. We all share one common goal: to make it happen and find someone their dream job. We strive to be open and honest not only with our travelers but also with recruiters and account executives. We understand that the credentialing process can be overwhelming, so we are committed to providing the highest level of communication and customer service to our travelers. By being there for our travelers every step of the way, we can successfully reach our goals together.
What is your favorite “feel good” or success story from a clinician going through the credentialing process?
We once worked with a traveler who felt overwhelmed by a new background check requirement that was also unfamiliar to us at CMG. It was a learning experience for everyone. One of our team members even left lunch early to assist the traveler, collaborating with her on and off the phone for over two hours. Together, we navigated the requirement, and she was cleared by the facility shortly after, allowing her to start her assignment. Her relief and gratitude showed just how much our support meant to her. It was a great feeling to know our efforts had made a significant impact, reinforcing our commitment to guiding our travelers through the credentialing process and assisting them in any way we can. Additionally, we cherish the interactions we have with our clinicians and love when they share their life stories or talk about their pets.
What would be your biggest piece of advice for a first-time clinician navigating the credentialing process?
Our biggest piece of advice for a first-time clinician is to tackle the credentialing requirements one section at a time to stay organized. The beginning of the process can seem overwhelming, so we recommend focusing on the larger, more important items first. This includes signing Adobe forms, completing medical services, and handling background check-related tasks such as fingerprints. It’s crucial to complete these early to allow enough time for results to come in.
After addressing these major items, move on to exams or modules and send in miscellaneous items such as certifications, driver’s license, auto insurance, and any other “easy” items the client may require. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your checklist shrinks by following this method!
Be patient with the process. We’re here to guide you, and our goal is always to ensure you start on time with no delays. Even though the emails may seem never-ending, don’t let them overwhelm you. Just breathe and focus on one thing at a time.
We understand it’s normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious about the process. As a first-time traveler, there are many emails and people involved, which can be confusing. We always tell our travelers to focus on the items they can control and complete, like sending in their driver’s license or BLS card and signing Adobe forms.
