At CMG, one of our core values is making a difference, something we live out every day both professionally and personally. Each quarter, our leadership team selects a charity for our quarterly donations, directing our efforts towards supporting that cause. We also encourage our employees to utilize their Volunteer Time Off (VTO), allowing them up to 8 hours per calendar year to volunteer with a 501(c)(3) organization of their choice. Our goal is always to inspire our community to make a positive impact.
During our recent teams week, a quarterly event where all employees, including those who are remote, gather for engaging activities organized by our Culture Club. This time around we focused on making a difference in various ways.
We began the week with a cozy PJ Day dedicated to our first charity activity: creating no-sew fleece blankets for Project Linus. Project Linus provides homemade blankets to hospitalized children, offering them comfort during their stay. Our team made 26 blankets for these children to brighten their hospital experience.
On Tuesday, we crafted paracord lanyards to support service members and first responders through Operation Gratitude. These lanyards, included in Operation Gratitude care packages, provide 5 feet of cord for emergency use, helping those who serve our communities stay prepared during critical moments. We made 67 lanyards for this cause.
We supported Be The Match on Wednesday by inviting employees to join the bone marrow donor registry with easy cheek swab testing. This simple act can potentially save lives by matching donors with patients in need of life-saving transplants, providing hope and healing to those battling serious illnesses. 25 people joined the registry through our efforts. Additionally, we participated in Color A Smile, a nonprofit distributing cheerful drawings to those in need, contributing 15 colored pictures. These drawings bring joy and smiles to recipients such as senior citizens, troops overseas, and anyone in need of a lift in spirits.
Thursday, we created birthday cards and videos for children experiencing homelessness through The Birthday Party Project, making 51 cards and numerous birthday wish videos. These personalized gestures bring warmth and celebration to children facing challenging circumstances.
Lastly, we supported a local charity, Manchester's Diaper Pantry, by encouraging donations of new, unopened diapers for families in need in our community. This support ensures that families have essential supplies for their children, promoting health and well-being.
These initiatives reflect our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others, aligning with our core value of making a difference. As we continue this journey, we remain steadfast in our mission to empower our employees and communities to create lasting change, one act of kindness at a time. Together, we can make a difference that truly matters.
