From her morning routine on the oceanfront of a recent assignment, to the unexpected twists, turns, code-red alarms, and tugged-on heartstrings of an eight-patient docket in hospice nursing, Ashley takes us along for the ride—and shows us what wholehearted excellence looks like on the road as a travel nurse.
“Part of my job is sometimes I have to leave the hospital to go do a start of care for a new hospice patient, and that happened to be a part of this crazy-busy day,” Ashley said. “This is not expected, but it does happen. It’s just the way it is in nursing—things come up that you never think about.”
A big part of what helps Ashley stay focused on her patients is the support and friendship she enjoys with her CoreMedical recruiter, Danielle, who checks in on her regularly to make sure she has all she needs. Ashley says, “I don’t typically go a week without hearing from my recruiter, and here is a perfect example.” 
“I love my recruiter,” she says. “I even have her labeled as ‘The Best Recruiter at CoreMedical’ in my phone. But what I hear is that all the recruiters are amazing and do this very thing.”
Another part of life on the road that certainly sweetens the deal is that Ashley travels with her husband, Mike. This lets her progress her career and her financial goals while enjoying life in the moment. Ashley and Mike usually celebrate after a long day over dinner, drinks, and live music at the super-fun spots for which sunny southwest Florida is so well known.
