Welcome, 2025!

As we launch into the new year, it’s important to look ahead and prepare for what to expect in the healthcare industry. Here’s a list of several trends and predictions that we expect to see in 2025.

Travel Nursing Growth

In 2025, we will see travel nursing continue to level out to pre-pandemic levels. During the pandemic, the demand for travel nurses skyrocketed to heights never seen before in the industry. There were never-ending jobs for travel nurses as so many patients needed treatment during that time and hospitals were overwhelmed. As we’ve moved further from the pandemic, we have seen the demand for travel nurses begin to return to pre-pandemic levels.

While things are leveling out, travel nursing is still projected to grow by 5% this year according to QX Global Group. Nurses are looking for more flexibility than a permanent position can give them. Exploring new places, living somewhere they never thought they could, really digging into the nomadic lifestyle, all while taking care of patients. For many healthcare professionals, this lifestyle is more enticing than just a normal permanent job.

Facility Culture & Staff Wellbeing

Nurses are also being more selective over where they choose to work and which agencies they work with. They want to work with those whose values align with theirs - whether it’s sustainability, ethics, social impact, etc. Showcasing your values is something that nurses look for when deciding on an agency to partner with. At CoreMedical Group, our values align with the healthcare profession as we focus on connecting people, improving lives, and giving back.

Nurses and hospitals alike are also focusing on nurse wellbeing. Tribal Health has reported that because of a hospital’s dedication to their nurses’ well beings and company culture, 25% of nurses have had stronger job satisfaction. The job satisfaction also correlates to patient care quality. Happy nurses equal happy patients. One of our values at CoreMedical Group is living by the golden rule: treat others the way you’d like to be treated. Positive culture does wonders for people and it directly impacts their lines of work.

The Use of AI

The biggest trend of 2025 will be the implementation of AI in healthcare staffing according to branch. AI is being used in the industry to help streamline recruiting processes by doing resume screenings, helping find qualified people for job openings, and checking licensing. AI is also being used to track data trends and predict staffing needs. Of course, even the best AI tools require a human touch to ensure that everything is accurate and personalized. If using AI, make sure to use it for streamlining and not for entire processes. People appreciate talking to an actual professional and building a relationship with them. AI is a wonderful way to fulfill requests quickly and effectively, but human touch goes above all else in the recruiting space.
