Q: What is Worker's Compensation?
A: Worker's Compensation (Worker's Comp) is insurance coverage that the law requires CoreMedical Group to carry, at no cost to our employees, in case an employee becomes ill due to their job, or is injured on the job. (TOP)

Q: What is a Worker's Compensation injury or illness?
A: A Worker's Compensation injury or illness is one that occurs during employment, during the normal course of your responsibilities. Worker's Compensation covers various types of events, injuries and illnesses. (TOP)

Q: How do I file a Claim?
A: Notify your immediate supervisor and seek appropriate treatment. If urgent care is needed, go to your local Emergency Room. Complete CoreMedical Group's Incident/Injury report or you may complete the facilities injury specific form. All claims must be reported to CoreMedical Group within 24 hours. (TOP)

Q: Now that I've reported my claim what happens next?
A: CoreMedical Group's Human Resource department will contact our insurance carrier of your incident within 24 hours notification. Once our carrier has been notified, we will follow-up with an email that will contain all pertinent information, should you need additional services:
  • Claim Date
  • Insurance Carrier
  • Policy #
  • Reference Number
  • Claims Address
  • Customer Service #
  • Provider Directory
(TOP)

Q: When can I return to work?
A: You can return to work once you have been released by your treating physician. You will be required by CoreMedical Group's Human Resources department to supply a note from your physician releasing you back to work. (TOP)

Q: What happens if I can only return to work with restrictions?
A: If you are released back to work with restrictions by your treating physician, it will then be up to the client facility to determine if they have a light duty position available for you that you can perform with the restrictions indicated. If you are unable to perform your duties as contracted, the client may need to find a replacement contractor that can perform those required duties at 100%, since as a traveler you are already filling in due to a shortage at the facility. Your current contract may be terminated at the discretion of the client. (TOP)

Q: What happens if I can't return to work for a while or at all?
A: If you are expected to be out of work for a period of time deemed to be too long by the client, your current contract may be terminated at the discretion of the client. If you are unable to return to work, your current contract will be terminated. (TOP)

Q: If the client terminates my contract, what will happen with my CoreMedical Group benefits?
A: You are always required to maintain a full-time employment status. If you are unable to maintain a full-time status, your benefits will end at midnight the night of your last physical day of work. For additional information on your Insurance plan, please reference our benefits section. You will be given the opportunity to purchase coverage through COBRA. (TOP)

Q: What if my claim is denied?
A: If your claim is denied, you will be given an opportunity to appeal the insurance company's decision. (TOP)
